The Mamluk Victory at Ain Jalut
Two years after Baghdad fell, the Mamluks of Egypt halt the Mongol advance at Ain Jalut, turning the tide of history.
At the spring of Goliath in Palestine, Sultan Qutuz and his commander Baybars met the army that had seemed unstoppable and defeated it. It was the first major Mongol defeat in open battle, and it preserved Egypt, the Hijaz and the Maghrib. The Mamluk sultanate then guarded the heartlands of Islam for over two centuries.
انتصار المماليك في عين جالوت
بعد سقوط بغداد بعامين يوقف مماليك مصر زحف المغول في عين جالوت، فيتحول مجرى التاريخ.
عند نبع جالوت في فلسطين التقى السلطان قطز وقائده بيبرس بالجيش الذي بدا أنه لا يُقهر فهزماه. كانت أول هزيمة كبرى للمغول في معركة مفتوحة، وبها نجت مصر والحجاز والمغرب. ثم حرست دولة المماليك قلب ديار الإسلام أكثر من قرنين.
