ERA OF THE PROPHET ﷺ

The Opening of Makkah

630 CE· 8 AH, RamadanMakkahMilitary & Conquest

The Prophet ﷺ enters Makkah with ten thousand companions almost without bloodshed, and forgives the people who had opposed him.

After Quraysh broke the truce, the Prophet ﷺ marched to Makkah and entered it in humility, his head lowered in gratitude. The Kaaba was cleared of idols, and a general amnesty was declared with the words: go, for you are free. The mercy of that day became a model of victory without vengeance.
