The End of the Ottoman Empire
After the First World War the Ottoman sultanate and then the caliphate are abolished, ending an institution of thirteen centuries.
Defeat in the First World War brought occupation and partition to Ottoman lands. The sultanate was abolished in 1922 and the caliphate in 1924, and new nation states rose across the former empire. Muslims worldwide received the news with grief and debate, and the questions of that moment still shape the Muslim world.
نهاية الدولة العثمانية
بعد الحرب العالمية الأولى تُلغى السلطنة العثمانية ثم الخلافة، فتنطوي مؤسسة عمرها ثلاثة عشر قرنًا.
جلبت هزيمة الحرب العالمية الأولى الاحتلال والتقسيم لأراضي الدولة العثمانية. أُلغيت السلطنة عام ١٩٢٢ والخلافة عام ١٩٢٤، وقامت دول قومية جديدة على أرض الدولة السابقة. وتلقى المسلمون النبأ بحزن وجدل، وما تزال أسئلة تلك اللحظة تشكل عالم المسلمين.
